Golfing Holidays in Spain

Family Breaks on the Costa del Sol

July 2011 - Irish Visitors to our Properties at Fairway Villas

According to the Spanish Tourist Board, Irish tourists who visit Spain for holidays have increased by 13.7%. Here at Fairway Villas, we have seen these facts reflected in the numbers of holiday visitors from Ireland booking our villas. Some have booked with us for traditional Golfing Holidays, some for their annual family break. Many have returned from previous years booked through us also.

Despite recession, Irish tourists have shown their phenomenal love towards Spain. To talk about figures, 579,555 Irish tourists visited Spain and its affiliated islands in the first six months of the year. As per experts’ opinion, Spain has become a hot destination among tourists, as other favorite tourist destinations like Middle East, North Africa and Greece are thought to be unsafe at the moment.

Antonio Bernabe, Director of the Spanish Tourism Board, believes that these figures have stated that tourists find Spain to be a safe destination, and also which offers high-quality, diverse offerings.

Bernabe further affirmed that last year, they saw a decline by 20% in tourists, heading to Spain. But, now they are back with a bang.

Even Britain's love for Spain has revived, with almost six million British visiting the place.
